People watching from the roof of our hotel was great! Down the street, teachers from the stat of Oaxaca were camped out to protest, hence all the tarps, but we didn't really see much action at all from them...
It's common here in Mexico for people to have dogs that they keep on the roof to alert them about robbers.
The market close to the Zocalo, or main square, of Oaxaca! Bartering is a way of life here; sadly, I'm terrible at negotiation prices, but at least my friends helped me out a bit!
While you eat, people oftentimes walk by to try to sell you things, including music!
Just some perspective on Oaxaca :)
Santo Domingo-- a convent-turned-Cultural Center/ Museum! It was beautiful and filled with even more beautiful things!
At our favorite restaurant for cena, or late-night "dinner."
Pretty walls and streets!
Marimba-playing street performers!
An Aguila Real, or a Golden Eagle, was present when we went into Santo Domingo! There was an entire exhibition dedicated to the species and its conservation/ recuperation here in Mexico
